Anxiety; Substance abuse; Mood disorders, especially depression and/or bipolar disorder. Review the criteria for the disorder you are interested in learning about. Next, prepare a written response to the following: 

  • Investigate the characteristics of the disorder, and then explain how you would determine the diagnosis. What kinds of questions would you ask? Include client self-screening tools and how you would utilize them.
  • Provide the recommended primary treatments for the disorder and determine how you would coordinate with other health care providers to ensure that the client gets appropriate treatment. Discuss how you would utilize the therapy treatments to enhance achieving the goals with the client.
  • Consider cultural aspects that might influence treatment and address how you will adjust treatment to be culturally sensitive.
