Part A the paper

  • topic: The Power of Touch in Romantic Relationships / scope How touch affects interpersonal relationships
  • include at least 10 peer-reviewed journal articles or chapters in both the paper and the presentation. Similarly, you may also use other supplementary sources like books or videos, but these would be in addition to your journal articles. I will also need a copy of your sources when you submit the paper
  • the  paper needs to conform to APA-style standards. What I tend to focus on most in terms of APA-style is proper title pages, in-text source citation, correct style for your references, and making absolutely sure that everything is in your own words. Quoting is strongly discouraged in most psychology courses, and I am a bit extreme in this regard. Everything should be paraphrased from your sources except for when it is clear you are speaking from your perspective.
  • What I am really looking for is integration of (1) what has the class taught you about the topic? (2) what have the journal articles taught you about the topic? And (3) who cares – what are the practical implications for this topic in the real world?

Part B: A powerpoint presentation (no longer than 5 minutes), which is based on the content of the paper (in which you will essentially teaching the students in class what you learned).
